How To Make Payment Via PayPal

Ok. So you've selected to make your payment via your credit card or PayPal account. I'm guessing if you already have a PayPal account you already know how to proceed so this is for all you newbies out there who have never used PayPal before. Don't worry, it's not complicated at all & I'm here to guide you step by step.

Step One
Once you've submitted your order form with "PayPal/Credit Card" selected as Mode of Payment, I will then proceed to send you an email invoice from PayPal within 1 - 3 business days. Check your email inbox & look out for an email from PayPal. It should look like this:

In the body of the email invoice, you will see the details of your order along with the total due for payment. You will also see the direct link to where you can complete your transaction on PayPal's secured site. Click on the link or copy & paste it onto your web browser.

Step Two

At the PayPal site, review the invoice. If everything is correct, click "Continue" to proceed to the next step.

Enter your credit card & personal info then click on "Agree and Continue"

Review your order. If everything is correct, click "Pay (dollar amount) Now"

And You're Done! Thank You For Your Purchase :)

Simple right? Within 1 - 3 business days, you will receive a PayPal receipt in your email inbox to confirm your payment & I will then email you again with your tracking ID upon posting your order.

I've decided to only offer Registered Mail & Pos Laju from now on folks. It's going to be a big pain for some people who don't like to pay extra for postage but think of avoiding the pain & anxiety when your order gets lost en route via normal snail mail! It breaks my heart too ya'know.

The changes have been reflected here & here so do take note that from now on Normal Mail is no longer available.

Packaging

Here's a peek at my packaging for online orders.

Top row
(Left) Each piece of jewelry or accessory is slotted into my custom made jewelry/business card & then packed into little cellophane bags so that the piece doesn't oxidize or comes into contact with water from rain during delivery.
(Right) My little way of saying thank you: a free pair of pewter or brass charm earrings with every purchase from 23 August to 23 September! Read more about the promo here.

Bottom row
(Left) The order + free earrings are wrapped in layers of fine tissue wrapping paper & topped of with ribbons. I then wrap it again with pink bubble wrap (Not pictured here as it's not very pretty! Hehehe). That silver box you see is for rings & other fragile jewelry & accessories.
(Right) Everything is then mailed to you in a bubble envelope that I've dressed up with more wrapping paper!

It's not very eco-friendly I admit but it works in keeping the jewelry safe during delivery. Perhaps someday I'll find a way to use only biodegradable products to pack my jewelry...

Please note that if you choose to have your order sent to you via Registered Mail, the bubble envelope will be PLAIN as the post office has restrictions concerning this mode of postage.

Ever since I've been on the local bazaar circuit I've been getting lots of exposure & coverage for my jewelry which is excellent but oh my gosh... I wasn't quite ready for the amount of emails that comes with all this exposure & coverage! It's not quite a problem lah and I feel extremely blessed and happy that there's this outpouring of interest in indie handicrafters and online shopping.

YaY for Malaysian Indie Handcrafters and Online Shopping!

I have also received plenty of orders from Malaysians (as opposed to before when it was mostly orders from overseas). This so totally ROCKS and just goes to show that Malaysians are becoming more and more open to purchasing online and love their one of a kind, handmade products. Problem is, there's a small number of people placing these orders who are unscrupulous.

They place an order, I send an invoice, they email back saying they will pay, then POOF! I don't hear from them anymore. Wha...?!?!?

I don't mind if they sent me an email with an enquiry, in fact I welcome questions! Heck, I don't even mind much if suddenly they have a change of heart as long as they let me know and don't leave me hanging for over a week! But once an order has been placed and I've confirmed availability by sending an invoice, it basically means we're in agreement and that I've already put the order aside which in turn deprives me of a potential sale from someone else, and I of course expect payment to be made within 3 working days (or within a renegotiated time frame) as stated time and time again on this blog and in my emails.

Can't get any more simple than that.

So let this be a warning to YOU, the unscrupulous buyer (I love everyone else. Really!): If you place an order and do not make payment on time, I will BLACKLIST you and forward your details to all online traders I know... And I know quite a few mind you.

Yup, it's tough lovin' time folks. The bottom line is, if you're not sure whether you want something, don't place the order. Drop me an email, ask me questions and then when you're truly ready, let's do business together. I don't bite and my friends say I'm very nice... That's why they're my friends. Heh.

Hi there stranger!

Here are a few things you should know...

I aim for cute sass and simplicity in my jewelry, and I never make anything that I wouldn't personally wear myself. I use a lot of hard to find vintage pendants and charms too, and there have been waaaay too many times when I've made things with the intention of putting it up for sale but just couldn't bear to part with it. Must learn how to break this habit someday...
Mimpi is Malay for Dream as the little bird explains above. I spent the better part of 2005/2006 musing and mulling that the name Mimpi is just perfect for a business that really started out as a dream.
I am based in Malaysia and proud to be a young Malaysian internet entrepreneur. Malaysia Boleh!
FYI, I have named the majority of my products with either common or traditional Malaysian names and words. I try to provide the English translation where possible for the benefit of any non-Malay speaking visitors out there (Selamat Datang or Welcome!).
I've always been in love with colors and design so when I discovered jewelry making 6 years ago while studying in Adelaide, I was instantly hooked. In jewelry making I found an outlet for my OCD (kidding!) and pent-up creativity plus near manic ability to buy all sorts of pretty, sparkly bits and pieces that I use in my jewelry.
I started selling online at my old blog PureMoon (a play on my name Murni which means Purity in Malay & an old high school nickname). I also used to sell my jewelry at Plaza Mont Kiara's Arts & Crafts Market every Sunday but have since stopped participating as I couldn't cope with my online orders and run a regular stall at the same time. Hey, a girl can only do so much! I now try to take part at least once a month in one of the many indie bazaars happening around KL. I conduct a Jewelry Making Workshop at Sophia in Mont Kiara. I can also run private workshops for individuals and for corporations. Email me for more info.
Hmmm... what else can I tell you?? Well, first of all the blog is not just all about my jewelry. I like to share little snippets of my life, great online finds & sometimes I write about nonsensical things just to entertain myself. Variety is the spice of life right? Anyways, here are some random things about me: I love caramel (anything sweet and/or creamy come to think of it), I have a fascination for gadgets and gizmos, Russian Dolls, birds, lucky Japanese cats (otherwise known as Maneki Nero), I simply can not leave Kinokuniya without getting a book or some sort of Japanese stationery (a notebook, a pen, stickers, anything!), I'd be more than happy to set up camp in a bead or craft shop if they'd let me, I have been known to snort instead of laugh, stumble instead of walk and my neighbors must think I'm a crazy cat lady cos I feed the 10++ stray cats in my neighborhood. I am also the proud mama of two English Cocker Spaniels named Bowie and Yogi. They don't like the 10++ stray cats.
